About
ABOUT MOOD FOOD:
I called my blog “MOOD FOOD” because that is what cooking is all about!
What I cook is based on my feeling at the time. If I’m feeling down in the dumps I cook ‘comfort’ food; if I am celebrating I cook party food; if I am on a budget I cook accordingly - “munching the crunch” as I like to call it! Moods take over everything, something I assume we all have in common, and our moods change on a frequent basis. We therefore behave and eat accordingly.
ABOUT ME:
I run my own catering business called JK Catering. I cover many areas in the culinary world, from corporate events, private dinners and cocktail recpetions, to childrens cooking parties, baby showers, and many more. On this site you will see many options to get in touch with me, and also to find easy recipes. I love cooking, and i love to eat. And this blog is my way of showing you what i like to do when i am working and not working. All these dishes are worthy to be eaten in restaurants, and you can learn how to make them at home.
I have been working as a chef for the last 10 years, and have worked in wonderful restaurants learning the tricks of the trade. Some of which i show you in this blog. Cooking has to come from the heart, and i truly believe that anyone can cook. Obviously there are people with a natural born talent, but they all have to learn from somewhere.
I started out peeling potatoes in restaurants, and from there i moved up and up to better positions, where i was able to find my feet firmly on the ground amnongst other chefs who are very talented.
I began my catering business as a way to have a little more time for myself, as i was working 72 hours a week and 6 days in a row, and was exhausted. Through this i have managed to find myself, new clients, friends, and have fun with everything. It is a wonderful business to be in and a wonderful platform to have to meet new people who have an interest in my blog.
I hope you enjoy this as much as i enjoy writing it, and eating everything i make.... :)
