Jawaneh (chicken wings)..... Mood = Wing-ing It
Chicken wings were my all time favourite when i was little. In middle eastern restaurants they are called Jawaneh. They serve them grilled on a skewer and cooked over a coal fire. We used to eat hundreds of them and i still do that when ever i go to an arabic restaurant. Simplicity is the best, And this dish is just that, Simple, delicious and so easy.
I only started to find chicken wings at the supermarket in the last year or so, and they are very very cheap. About £1.20 for 5, so that can be quite a money saver. Just get the right ingrediants for a marinade and you are set.
Not much explanation here as the wings speak for themselves i think.....
Very tender, very tasty and very quick. I hate the fuss in the kitchen ,but some recipes do call for it and are sooooo worth it, but this is just not that type of dish. Although the cooking time is long as i like it to simply just fall of the bone when eaten, and also allow time for the marinde to set in.
Recipe:
15 chicken wings
Half a tub of yoghurt
2 lemons
Cayenne pepper (to taste)
rosemary
Thyme
Salt
Pepper
Olive oil
Crushed garlic
Method:

Jawaneh is by far the most nostaligic dish for me. Remembering our sunday lunches all of us together eating tray after tray of these and then counting how many we had. Those days were so amazing and so far away.... But i like to think i can recreate them at home with my new family.
Enoy the finger licking wings!!!!

Method:
- Wash the chicken wings and place them in a baking tray
- Add all the ingrediants to taste and mix
- I usually put a few srpigs of thyme and rosemary a teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- Let it marinate for a bit (1 hour), but if you are too impatient like me, i just let it marinate in the oven.
- Cook at 190 degrees for about 45 minutes until it has browned nicely on the top and the sauce is thickening.
- Remove from the oven and serve.
